Step-by-Step Crafting Guide
1. Prepare your surface
Place an OHP sheet (or a transparent plastic sheet) over your table. This ensures your project won’t stick to the surface and can be easily peeled off once it is completely dried.2. Unpack and store securely
Open the clay tub and remove the air-tight plastic pack. Take out only the amount of clay you need for your current project. Always remember to put the remaining clay back inside the tub to ensure it doesn’t dry out.3. Work in smaller quantities
Use the clay in smaller portions to keep it manageable and to prevent unused parts from drying out while you work.4. Shape the basics
Start by rolling the clay between your palms to create a smooth, ball-like structure. This acts as a great foundation for most shapes! You can use your hands or the included modelling tools to mould and sculpt finer details.5. Flatten for bases
If you are building a project that requires a flat surface or base, simply use a rolling pin to flatten the clay dough evenly.6. Build bigger structures
Want to build something tall? Use support items like small plastic balls, wooden sticks, or aluminum foil inside your clay to act as an armature (skeleton). This ensures your taller structures stand strong and don’t droop while drying.
Oops! Did your clay look melted after putting it back in the tub? Don’t worry, it’s perfectly fine. Just use the tool to take it out and enjoy playing with it again!
Disclaimer: Keep it fresh! Always store unused clay in an airtight container immediately after opening to keep it soft and reusable. Leftover clay will dry out if left exposed to air.
How to Mix Colours
Don’t see the exact shade you want? You can easily create it! To achieve colours that are not part of the standard pack, simply take parts of 2 or 3 different shades and blend them. For example, if you want to make orange, take a piece of red clay and a small portion of yellow clay. Mix them together by kneading the dough thoroughly until you achieve a solid orange shade. Tip: Refer to the colour mixing chart to see how to combine the shades from your given pack to achieve exciting new variations!
